Bass fishing stupidity
Bass anglers are ignorant (or monkfish, for that matter), arrogant and just plain stupid?
Sometimes you have to ask how ...
Bass Fishing is, like all outdoor activities, a privilege. In today's world, sometimes overly critical, we must work hard to ensure our ability to protect all access to water, home of our favorite resources.
We are both trustees and ambassadors for our sport and in many ways the resource. Each time we act intentionally or negligently damage the environment or resource, a negative impression of the casual observer of our business as we often turn on a prejudice against us access to this environment.
How come?
In many ways, they are almost impossible to list but here are a few examples are:
- End or reject the clear key areas) where fishing (either on land or water;
- Point used for catching fish and that she then took to the trash receptacles at the ramp or even worse, they go straight to the bank, red or
- Since less than polite, either by fishing on the coast, on the ramp and on the water to other people, especially non-anglers.
At best, the negative image of bass fishing as an athlete and control poor, a growing number of rules and restrictions on our access to this valuable resource.
A concrete example of jumped into my mind comes from a number of years and includes a person who shamelessly abuse the goodness of our sport.
This issue is a lake in southeastern Massachusetts by three buildings, one a golf course surrounded by other cranberry bogs, and the last a privately owned nature reserve.
Both the golf course and marsh owners do not (and still do not) give access to the lake from their properties because of past vandalism and liability. For many years, however, the private nature reserve owners access a small launch and picnic area on the south side of the lake.
Or they have used at least until there is a so-called bass anglers, the unthinkable ...
After what a friend he was able to catch a limit (5-bass) large fish (> 5 pounds. S) from this lake, he managed to achieve this feat in his next trip. Instead of the fish jus home with his friend show, however, he tied up the base to a stringer then tied the rope around a tree on the idea to his friend at a later date to see the day he went to the lake.
Now remember, is the beginning of the privately-owned conservation land there, so the caretaker made his round in the afternoon and saw this stupid at the same time, it will be immediately reported to headquarters.
Within 24 hours it was recorded, sealed the entrance with a hill (a few weeks later replaced with locking) grill, and all future fishing Denied.
So I ask, such as bass anglers, we are stupid, arrogant or just ignorant?
There are a lot of water in southern New England, where access to the water quickly becomes almost impossible so long because of the increased development of the area or negatively cooperative landowners. Documents to this or just throw waste or impolite results when fishing in a growing number of accessibility issues.
Always keep an eye on the action today often dictate our access to our valuable resource for the future ...
